11 RULES OF WRITING
This site is a concise guide to some of the most commonly violated rules of writing, grammar, and punctuation. It is intended for all writers as an aid in the learning and refining of writing skills. Explore each of the rules to see examples of its application, and use the references to find additional explanations and examples on the Web or in print. Look up grammatical terms in the glossary. В Интернете можно найти и скачать множество учебных пособий: книг, звуковых файлов, фильмов. Однако, поисковые системы, как правило, выдают в числе первых не самые лучшие документы, а, кроме того, они их выдают необозримо много, так что в результатах поиска разобраться бывает трудно. На этой странице приведены ссылки на пособия, которые мне кажутся заслуживающими внимания в первую очередь.

The International Dialects of English Archive
IDEA was created in 1997 as a free, online archive of primary source dialect and accent recordings for the performing arts. Its founder and director is Paul Meier, author of the best-selling Accents and Dialects for Stage and Screen, a leading dialect coach for theatre and film, and a specialist in accent reduction.
The Technical Advisor and Founding Webmaster Emeritus for the archive is Shawn Muller.
The Theatre Department at the University of Kansas, USA, where Meier is a professor, is home to the archive; while the Associate Editors form a global network.
All recordings are in English, are of native speakers, and include both English language dialects and English spoken in the accents of other languages. The archive also includes extensive Special Collections.
We add new recordings and text files frequently (see What's New). Each recording consists of a standard reading passage — Comma Gets A Cure, or, on our earliest recordings, The Rainbow Passage — and some unscripted speech, about four minutes in all.
